PATTERN, PRINT and ABSTRACTION
In the art sessions people often work with the materials in an experimental and abstracted way, creating patterns, focusing on mark making, shape, gesture, colour, line, texture.
Here are a collection of works and links to artists that explore pattern, print, abstraction and colour.

ABSTRACT WATERCOLOUR PAINTING
This is a demonstration by Art In Hospital artist Alan Lyons. He hopes that this video will encourage people to try watercolour painting. The film can also be enjoyed as it is.
In it he works loosely and simply to build up an expressive abstract piece using mark making, colour and design. He finds working in this liberal way allows him to enjoy the process and to focus the mind.
